Bea HamlingThe St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of Bea Hamling who passed away earlier this week.  Bea was a supporter of St. Albert and her children & many Grandchildren are St. Albert graduates.  Please say a special prayer today for the entire Hamling family and for the repose of the soul of Bea..

Eternal rest grant unto Bea o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon her.

Bea Hamling

Beatrice A. "Bea" Hamling, age 84, passed away January 23, 2015, at Harmony Court.

Bea was born, December 13, 1930, in Neola, Iowa, to Paul F. Eckrich Sr. and Edna C. (Henderson) Eckrich. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1949. Bea retired from the VNAPC in July of 1996 after 22 years and 3 months as a Medical Transcriptionist. She then went to work as a Funeral Home Receptionist. Bea's memberships included St. Peters Church, St. Ann's Altar and Rosary Society, Mercy Guild and volunteered at the Mercy Gift Shop. She bowled for many years and enjoyed family gatherings, embroidery, and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don Eckrich.

Survivors include daughters, Mary L. Field and husband, Bill, of Council Bluffs, Patti A. Wayne and husband, Mark, of Lake Worth, Fla.; sons, Joe Hamling and wife, Stephanie, of Johnston, Iowa, Jeff Hamling and wife, Debbie, of Council Bluffs; 7 granddaughters, 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Young, of Council Bluffs, Dorothy Setzer, of Lindenhurst, Ill.; brother, Paul F. Eckrich Jr. and wife, Peg, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Eckrich, of Clinton, Iowa; nieces, nephews and good friends, Mike and Candy Kuehl.

Rosary recitation Tuesday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation until 8 p.m., at funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 10 a.m., at St. Peters Church followed by a luncheon in Kottas Hall. Interment will follow the luncheon in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Neola, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to St. Peters Church.
