2020-2021 SADT

"Tradition In the Making"

2020-21 Outlook

We hope this finds you well.  We have been thinking about everyone and have kept you all in our prayers.

At this moment we are making some “loose” plans to collaborate with our High School Cheer team to offer combined coaching, collaborative camps and more DANCE opportunity as a supplement and feeder into a strong Cheer/Dance/Spirit Squad team at Saint Albert.

There are many advantages to have the programs collaborate: shared uniforms, poms, shared fundraising, stronger numbers, more coaching, and better prep for collegiate opportunity.  Currently in our area, IWCC and Creighton have Spirit Squad programs that make the most out of combining trained cheerleaders, gymnasts and dancers

Of course, this is all in flux right now, but we want to present our ideas and make our best laid plans now and then be ready for your students as we navigate our way through the school year.

Parents, we welcome your input and we will continue the conversation to plan into 2020-2021.

An example of what the SA Cheer/Dance/Spirit Squad would like is:

  • High School Cheer Squad with stunting/gymnastics; game cheers; spirit posters/school décor and pep rally participation; 8 count and half time dances for those who are strong dancers

  • mini clinic/camp participation with a dance and cheer learning opportunity

  • Junior High focus as a JV/Junior cheerleaders/dancers with part of High School practice time or clinics to teach JV/Junior squad
  • opportunity for JV/Junior squad to perform sideline with High School at some events

If Junior High and/or High School squads have strong desire to competitively dance ….this will be explored and planned for with parent support and will have to be in addition to being a part of the High School Spirit Squad.

Stay safe the rest of the summer and we hope to see everyone back on campus this fall!

Work Hard and Good Things Will Happen

As you might know, there is not a high school dance team this year. That doesn't mean there won't be any dancing!!!!

Coach Andrea Harper with the assistance of Ms. Haley Klusman and Mrs. Shelley Snook are starting a Dance Team for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

We will be networking with studios, choreographers and dance team directors for camp routines to create 3 workshops/camps/clinics for the dancers.

The opportunities we envision are:

- Mini Clinic for K-5 with the middle school and high school students helping out
- Pom/Cheer weekend clinic (middle school and high school)
- Halftime routine (middle school dancers - 2 weeks of scheduled practice required)

All of these clinics would give the dancers an opportunity to perform during the basketball season.

If you know of anyone interested in joining this group, please contact us at:
