St. Albert celebrates with new crucifix

St. Albert the Great was an intellectual, an academic known for his prowess for natural science, mathematics and theology.

Council Bluffs’ Catholic school students and community members honored him on Wednesday – the Feast of St. Albert – and dedicated a new crucifix at the entrance of St. Albert High School, marking a half-century of education reflecting its patron saint’s academic inspiration.

“The crucifix is meant to reflect the church’s respect for tradition and embrace of innovation and learning,” artist Michael Montag said in prepared remarks.
