Abraham Lincoln opened its softball campaign with a 12-0, three-inning win over St. Albert on Monday at City Park.

“It was a good way to start the season,” Abraham Lincoln coach Pat Kroll said. “It was a good team win and gets our confidence going.”

Michaela Kennedy tossed a no-hitter and struck out eight batters to earn the win. Taylor Anderson recorded two doubles, knocked in a run and scored twice. Lauren Rommel also had two hits, including a double, scored two runs and stole a base.

Lauren Meeker added a double and plated three runs.

“We expected this to happen,” St. Albert coach Melissa Fidone said. “A.L. is bigger and more polished.”
