Saintes fall in Conf Tourney

Posted: 01/24/2012 - by Drew Ferguson

After taking one on the chin to Columbus Scotus in round one on Monday night (38-23), the Saintes lost in the consolation bracket at home to Lincoln Lutheran.  It was a hard faught battle, but in the end they came up a little short by falling 37-29.  That puts them at 7-9 on the season.  As has been the case for the past few games, the girls are struggling on offense but defense has been solid.  You can't fault the effort... in most cases you should win cames when you hold the opponent to under 40 points.  However, our production on the offensive end needs to get better -- and it will.

The Saintes were led in scoring by Kylie Ferguson with 11 points while Mattie Munger chipped in with 6 on two 3's.  Nevada Meis pulled down 9 rebounds while Ferguson grabbed 7.  They now have a week off before their next game (vs. TJ), but the timing may be right for some consecutive days of practice before they make their stretch run into Districts.
