Coach Kruse's 8th graders romp into the finals...

Coach Dana Kruse's 8th grade Falcon squad romped into the finals of the Parochial Athletic League Tuesday night here at Omaha Central Field by beating St. Margaret Mary 33-0. The Falcons used a stifling defense and a solid running game to dismantle the Spartans.

Andrew Brown got the party started early by returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Then from his fullback position Brown had a long touchdown run of 45 yards halfway thru the 1st period to make the score 12-0. Brown then capped off the first half scoring in the second period by taking a fourth and eight pass 38 yards for the touchdown making the halftime lead 18-0.

In the second half it was more of the same for the Falcons. Ebose Okaruwa broke off a long run late in the third quarter to make the score 24-0. The insuing snap was high and Bronson Marsh threw to Brown for the two-point conversion to make the score 26-0 going into the fourth. In the fourth, Bronson Marsh ran a QB slip 80 yards and Paul Johnson's extra point made the final score 33-0.

Not only was the ground game moving, but the Falcon defense was bone-crushing. The Spartans could muster few first downs as Rick Romano and company put the hurt to the St. Margaret Mary offense. The defense was truly impressive.

All in all, the Falcons have a fantastic TEAM. They are the only undefeated team in the league going into Sunday's P.A.L. final and the only undefeated team in any sport currently at St. Albert. Did I mention they had two touchdowns called back and that they have the fewest numbers of players of any team in the league?

Come out Sunday afternoon to UNO's Al Caniglia Field at 3pm to see if the Falcons can finish the year unblemished. <-- The last team to win the PAL title... The class of 2005 which just happened to win a state title!

Groundgainers for the Falcons - Bronson Marsh, Andrew Brown, Jake Waters, & Ebose Okaruwa.
Passcatchers for the Falcons - Paul Johnson & Eric Golwitzer.
