Nine SWI students advance to state oratorical contest

The Green Hills Area Education Agency hosted the district level of the Modern Woodmen of America’s School Speech Contest last week.

Twenty-five students, all first-place winners in school contests, traveled to the Halverson Center in Council Bluffs on Thursday to deliver speeches on the theme of “An Interesting Landmark.” Green Hills AEA’s Debbie Hayes said topics included Stonehenge, Mt. Rushmore, Niagara Falls, Disney World and the Danish Windmill in Elk Horn.
