Red Oak girls hold off Saintes

A new week has breathed new life into the Red Oak girls basketball team.

After a forgettable eight-day stretch that included three straight losses, the Tigers breezed past Southwest Valley 64-21 on Monday. Class 3-A No. 11 Red Oak notched an even bigger win on Tuesday, scoring a tightly contested 59-51 Hawkeye Ten Conference road victory over St. Albert..

“Tonight I hope we got our mojo back,’’ Red Oak coach Dan Martinez said. “I think this is a big morale and confidence booster for the girls.’’

Red Oak improved to 13-4 overall and 5-4 in league play while St. Albert dropped to 8-8 and 2-6.
