The circumstances weren’t perfect. But no way was St. Albert missing a chance to keep its volleyball hot streak going.

A power outage at Underwood High School made for a unique environment for a Class 2-A regional quarterfinal Tuesday night. Dimmer auxiliary lights lit the gym. The public-address system was out, forcing teams to abandon pre-match introductions and the crowd to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in lieu of the national anthem. Without a working scoreboard, flip boards were set up on both sides of midcourt.
