Heisman Watch: Taysom Hill, Everett Golson on the rise

Just two weeks of the 2014 regular season are in the books — about one-eighth of the year, going by total weeks — yet a frontrunner has emerged for the Heisman Trophy: Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Mariota had already emerged, on the other hand, standing as the leading contender for the trophy throughout the offseason and deep into August. Yet after leading the Ducks to a marquee nonconference win against Michigan State, Mariota has not just moved to the front of the pack but two paces ahead of the pack.
