Marianne Albina (Smith) Osborne, of Council Bluffs, lived a wonderful 77 years until her death on March 27, 2019. Marianne was on her last travel expedition of her bucket list, which was to see San Francisco, when she gained her angel wings. Marianne passed away peacefully, in Oakland, Calif. She has joined her loving husband, Donald W. Osborne, of 52 years, in heaven.

Marianne was born in Dunlap, Iowa, and moved to Council Bluffs in 1946 with her family. She is a 1959 graduate of St. Francis High School. She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Marianne was an avid KC Chiefs fan and could be found on home game Sundays at Arrowhead Stadium with Don and many tailgating friends. They traveled with the Chiefs to Pro Bowl, in Hawaii, several times and other stadiums to support their team! Marianne was a registered histo-technologist for several of the local hospitals before retiring early. She was a member of The National Society of Histo-technology, and the Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri Societies of Histo-technology. She was also a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Marianne loved to travel the USA with Don, in their RV. They spent 10 years traveling together, making many friends from coast to coast, and bringing joy to underprivileged children at Christmas time.

Marianne was a loving mother to her children and will be missed by Robert Osborne (Tania Kingery), of Council Bluffs, Yevonne (Osborne) Henry, of Council Bluffs, and Brian (Julie) Osborne, of Valdosta, Ga.; grand-children, Christopher Osborne, Olivia Wright, Jeremy (Lisa) Henry and Justin (Macy) Henry. Marianne was GiGi to her great-grandchildren, Addison, Paxton and Cambree. Marianne was the older sister to Cathy (Dennis) Cushman, of Englewood, Colo., and Carolyn (Larry) Mielke, of Edinburg, Pa. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
