MadStatters' 2016 RAGBRAI Day 2 Report

Posted: 07/26/2016 - by Charlie Narmi

Hills, hills & more hills. Logged 80 miles of up & up & up.  Team pretty low key tonight since the heat & humidity teamed up with the hills.

We ate a classic farmhand breakfast at renowned Mondo's in Shenandoah. Of course an old acquaintance of Joe's sauntered in. Hey, it's small town Iowa.

Villisca

We skipped the axe murder house in Villisca, just to be on the safe side.

Lunch included pig shaped pork patty from the K of C in Corning.  Cute & creepy.

Dinner was pizza at a good joint in Creston. Then we hit Sidetracked lounge. Recently deceased owner, Randy, a huge youth sports booster. Can tell you more of the story upon request.

Stayed with AD in Creston, Jeff & Deana Bevins. Thanks!

Creston - so named for elevation relative to surroundings.  Railroad town.

OK, lackluster report save the quiet pride of accomplishment.
