Vince GrundThe St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of Vince Grund who passed away earlier this week.  Vince was a St. Albert Dad, Grandfather and Father of current High School Secretary, Cecilia Hallstrom.  Vince was a strong supporter of St. Albert and Holy Family Church of Corpus Christi Parish.  Please keep Vince's entire family in your prayers and please pray for the repose of his soul...

Eternal rest grant unto Vince o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon him.

Vince Grund

Vincent B. Grund, age 86, Council Bluffs, passed away April 15, 2015, at his home.

Vincent was born March 21, 1929, in Omaha, Neb., to Joseph F. and Josephine M. (Klaus) Grund. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He was united in marriage to Margaret (Salvo) on May 28, 1949.

Vincent's working career spanned 43 years with the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring as a Payroll Clerk. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family Church where he was active in parish activities, Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, Right to Life and was a longtime supporter of the Columban Fathers.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margaret in 2002; brothers, Joseph and Frank; sisters, Helen McDonald and Mary Webster.

Survivors include his children, Rosanne Staniford, Jo Marie (Bill) Hargens, Theresa Svoboda, Cecilia (Tom) Hallstrom, Elizabeth Grund, all of Council Bluffs, John (Deanna) Grund, of Omaha; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Rosary recitation Sunday, 3 p.m., followed by visitation until 5 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 10:30 a.m., Corpus Christi-Holy Family Church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at church. Memorials are suggested to Corpus Christi-Holy Family Church, Columban Fathers or Alzheimers
