Panthers stifle Saintes, move within a game of statePosted: 02/21/2015 - by Owen BurginHARLAN – The Logan-Magnolia girls didn’t bask too long in Tuesday’s overtime victory over Hinton. They had work to do. The two days leading up to Friday’s Class 2-A regional semifinal matchup against St. Albert were spent getting to know everything about the Saintes. In addition to running daily practice, Lo-Ma coach Derek Sonderland and his players watched nine game films on the Saintes. They also had morning shootarounds to keep sharp. The preparation paid big dividends. Thanks to a second-half defensive game plan that saw the Panthers yield only 14 points over the final 16 minutes, Lo-Ma earned a 38-35 victory over the Saintes Friday.
