Van Meter baseball coach Mike Kennedy knew he had a tough act to follow.
When the Denison-Schleswig graduate took over his first baseball job, he was inheriting a state semifinalist with 11 returning seniors. With Tuesday night's 5-1 Class 2A substate final victory over St. Albert on KMA 960, the Bulldogs next act looks to be just as good as the first.
