Falcons Place 9th, Heisterkamp 24th!

(Ft. Dodge) - A beautiful day met the St. Albert boys cross country team in Fort Dodge for their 28th state appearance at the final meet where the team finished in 9th place to close out the 2018 season.

Bennett Heisterkamp paced the Falcons with an individual time of 17:10.9, good for 24th place out of the 147 state racers. Seniors Leo Garrigan (18:00.3), Luke Blaha (18:43.7) and Dan Pauley (19:32.4) wrapped up their high school cross country careers while freshman Jonah Churchill (18:13.3) and Hadyn Piskorski (19:13.4) showed promise for the future.

Madrid's 63 points dominated the field with five runners recording times under 18 minutes, including individual champion Sean McDermott who ran a time of 16:16.4. Calamus-Wheatland, South Hamilton, Sibley-Ocheyedan and Newman Catholic rounded out the Class 1A top five.
