Lauren Nahnsen wore out three pairs of shoes during softball season. By the end, even her newest right one still needed tape to keep the sole on.
Most of the footwear damage occurred in the circle, where the righty dragged her trail leg through 153 2/3 innings of work. Some came from rounding the bases after bashing a school-record 14 home runs in one summer.
