John was a very successful businessman in California who was also an old friend to St. Albert in his hometown of Council Bluffs. John R. Paluka, age 86, of Sunland, Calif., passed away December 20, 2018, in Sunland.
John was born January 15, 1932, in Council Bluffs, to the late Frank J. and Selina A. (Colgan) Paluka. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1950 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. John was an engineer for 30 years for Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Luana A. Paluka in 2018. John is survived by his brother, Francis J. Paluka, of Iowa City, Iowa; sister, Rose Maureen Paluka, of Lakewood, Colo.; dear friends, Richard and Charlotte Leu, Mindy Leu Farias, Rusty Regan and Tricia Dien; cousins and other family and friends.
