Saintes fall to Red Oak

RED OAK - Red Oak led by seven at the half and used a 21-12 third-quarter run to open things up in a 57-41 win over St. Albert in girls non-conference basketball action Tuesday evening.

Red Oak senior Beth Bruce led the Tigers with 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Arryn Blomstedt added 17 points while Molly DeBolt and Sheila Collins each contributed eight.

Taylor Russell led the Saintes with 16 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two assists. Morgan Wickersham and Becky Assmann each added six points as well as three and two rebounds respectively.

"We played really hard and had it within five points in the third quarter," said St. Albert coach Gary Rindone. "Red Oak went on a 16-point spree and we weren't able to stay with them."

The Saintes face off against crosstown rival Abraham Lincoln on their home court Saturday.
