Saintes Can't Get Untracked @ NCC Tourney

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - The St. Albert volleyball team finished a disappointing eighth place at the Centennial Conference Tournament at Grand Island Catholic on Saturday.

The Saintes got off to a slow start dropping to Fremont-Bergan 25-14 25-16. Wahoo Neumann was next on the list, but the Saintes fell in three: 28-26, 19-25, 25-20.

David City-Aquinas was the last chance for the Saintes to come out of the day with at least one win, but David City swept them 25-19 and 25-20.

Taylor Russell had 18 kills on the day while Becca Gradoville and Morgan Wickersham each added 11.

Caitlin Cool had 15 digs for the defense and Caitlin Finn added 13 more.

"We played much better in game two against Wahoo Neumann," said St. Albert coach Angie Lantz, "We just tried to come away with one win on the day."
