Saintes Good; Not Great vs. Bergan

FREMONT, Neb. - For the second straight evening, St. Albert played a good prep volleyball match against a solid opponent and came away with a loss.

The Saintes fell to Fremont Bergan 23-13, 25-22, 25-13 and evening after losing in five games at Underwood.

Despite the setback, "I was pleased with our play," said St. Albert coach Angie Lantz. "We talked after the match. We just gave them too many points, especially early. We were down by eight very quickly in the first game. We played the second game tough. I know the score doesn't show it, but we played the third game tough. It was a good match, we just can't give away points."

St. Albert next plays in the Centennial Conference tournament, which is Saturday at Grand Island, Neb., Central Catholic. The Saintes are the sixth seed and, in a twist, drew Fremont Bergan in an 11 a.m. match.

"This is an opportunity for us," said Lantz.
