From Pops to Hoops

Last night was the pops concert.  It had been rescheduled twice before landing on the final evening in February.  In addition to the concert On the Hill, last night featured PAL basketball tournaments and their musical rescheduling chairs. I thought the groundhog DIDN'T see its shadow!

The concert was fantastic.  Mrs. Tjaden was her own accompanist for the choirs.  Mr. Radermacher played the drums because band members had tournament games. Mrs. Tjaden conducted the band for that song.

The night also featured three middle school band small groups that picked their own music, practiced together and were voted in by the rest of the band to perform tonight before the concert.

Multi-activity students who had basketball games later in the evening were granted permission to sing in the choir or play in the band before they and their families respectfully tip-toed out to make it to their games.

The Faithful were in full force tonight.  It was a night that showed everything that Saint Albert can be, both the arts and sports.  We allow our students to do it all and we support them in everything they do. And the bleachers in both the St. Albert and St. Pius gyms were packed with green and gold.

The Saintes 7th grade team came back from 12 down in the 2nd half to eke out a 32-31 win over Elkhorn St. Patrick and will play in the championship game Saturday morning (10:20) at St. Roberts (120th & Pacific).
