The St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of Ron Hanson who passed away on Friday.  Ron was a St. Albert Grandpa to Max & Meg Ross and a supporter of St. Albert and his daughter & son-in-law, Ellen & Tim Ross.  Please say a prayer for Ron today and please keep the entire Hanson & Ross families in your prayers at this difficult time... 

Eternal rest grant unto Ron o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon him.

Ron Hanson

Ronald Eugene Hanson, age 88, passed away May 25, 2018, at Bethany Lutheran.

Ron was born February 7, 1930, in Council Bluffs, to the late Elmer and Mary Lena (Chase) Hanson and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, with the class of 1948. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Ron was united in marriage to Carolyn Franzen on October 6, 1956.

Ron worked for over 30 years at the Union Pacific Railroad as a Safety Coordinator and his memberships include Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Downtown Kiwanis Club, where he was very active in their reader program, cleanup of Bayliss Park, volunteered at Mohm's Place, Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader and worked on elections in the polling place.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Allen.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carolyn; daughter, Ellen Ross and husband Tim, all of Council Bluffs; son, Kirk Wolden-Hanson and wife Tami, of Woodinville Wash; grandchildren, Maxton and Meg Ross.

Visitation, Thursday, 1 to 2 p.m., followed by memorial service at 2 p.m., with a luncheon to follow, all at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Interment at a later date at the Omaha National Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Croix Hospice, Downtown Kiwanis Club and Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
