St. Albert struck for five runs in the first inning at Chuck Wolever Field Thursday night, but Logan-Magnolia rallied, with the help of five Falcon errors, for an 8-6 non-conference prep baseball decision.

The Panther bullpen held the Falcons to one run over the last six innings after the Falcons' big start.

"Their relievers did a great job," said Falcon coach Ken Schreiber. "We just couldn't hold on to the lead."

Ben Whelen hit a double and a triple to pace the Falcon offense and Alan Caniglia added a pair of RBIs.

Matt O'Malley went the distance for St. Albert, striking out five.

Ryan Foutch picked up the win for the Panthers, who scored twice in the top of the seventh for the win.

Logan-Magnolia blanked St. Albert 8-0 Thursday night at St. Albert.

The Panthers used a four-run second inning to take command early and Bridgit Niedermyer allowed the Saintes only four hits over seven innings.

"We hit the ball hard tonight, but Lo-Ma played good defense," said St. Albert coach Katie Heithoff. "They hit the ball hard too."

Trevour Yates tripled for St. Albert but that was as close as the Saintes came to scoring.

Felicia Campbell pitched seven innings of walk free work from the circle and recorded five strikeouts.

"Felicia pitched a great game," said Heithoff.
