Saintes roll to 6-1 win over ADM

ADEL - St. Albert rolled to a 4-0 lead by halftime and went on to a 6-1 win over Adel-DeSoto-Minburn in a prep girls soccer match Saturday.

Freshman Abby Schlater recorded her first-ever varsity hat trick to lead the way for the Saintes, scoring a pair of first-half goals and adding another one just eight minutes following the intermission.

Gina Assmann got the scoring started around 15 minutes into the game for the Saintes off an assist from Schlater. Schlater made the score 2-0 less than three minutes later, with Becca Meade providing the helper.

With 16:22 left in the first half, Rachel Sowers took a pass from Assmann and found the back of the net, and Schlater scored the final goal of the opening half off a pass from Gabrielle Welch.

Schlater recorded her third and final tally of the on an unassisted goal with 32 minutes left in the game, and Sophie Bartels scored with 13 minutes to go to give the Saintes a comfortable 6-0 lead.

Adel-DeSoto-Minburn accounted for its lone score of the night with 5:54 to go.

"A lot of girls got playing time ... we pretty much played everybody," St. Albert coach Randy Salyers said. "And everybody played extremely well."
