Thelma Linehan HerringtonThe St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of St. Albert mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and supporter, Thelma Linehan Herrington who passed away earlier this week. Please pray for the repose of Thelma's soul and please keep her entire family in your prayers as well during this difficult time.

Eternal rest grant unto Thelma o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon her.

Thelma Linehan Herrington

Thelma Linehan Herrington, age 83, Council Bluffs, passed away April 16, 2015.

Thelma was born in Council Bluffs on November 11, 1931, to Elmer “Pat” and Edith (Lane) Colwell and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Thelma worked for JC Penney in Human Resources and Training, and later at Council Bluffs Savings Bank and Firstar Bank also in Human Resources.

She was an avid reader and is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Tom Linehan in 1971 and Bill Herrington in 1982; sisters, Pat (Bud) Siebert, Marilyn (William) Tilley, Charlotte (Chuck) Wells, and Marge Showers; brother, Sonny Colwell.

Survivors include Thelma’s daughters, Kathleen (Steve) Tisher, Laurie Linehan Kruse, all Council Bluffs; son, Mike (Marilyn) Linehan of Oceanside, Calif.; grandchildren, Sarah, Tarah and Marcus; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Zachary, Tanner, Paxton, Logan, Ally, Baily and Carly; brother-in-law, LeRoy Showers of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family on Sunday from Noon-2pm at Cutler-O'Neill Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:30am at Queen of Apostles Church.  A luncheon will immediately follow the service.  Private family interment.

Memorials are suggested to the Council Bluffs Public Library & The Jennie Edmundson Foundation.
