Bill Hansen

William E. “Bill” Hansen, age 69, of Omaha, formerly of Persia and Council Bluffs, passed away at his home on April 15, 2015.

Bill was born September 5, 1945, in Persia, Iowa, to the late William “Hine” and Elceda (Foje) Hansen. He graduated from Tri-Center High School in 1963. Bill married Janice Ostdiek on October 5, 1963 in Neola. They were blessed with four children, Tami, Lori, Pamela and Scott. Bill spent his working career in the trucking industry, working for Brown Transfer for the past 15 years as pricing manager, retiring in 2014. He was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Omaha, Tri-Center Investment Club and former school board member at St. Albert High School.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Lois Tennigkeit, Shari Ledford, Robert and Terry Hansen.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Hansen; daughters, Tami (John) Petrulis, Lori Hansen, Pamela (Guy) Kirkpatrick; son, Scott Hansen all of Omaha; grandchildren, Jake and Jared Gardner, Nate and Erin Hansen, Josie Petrulis; nieces and nephews.

A wake service & rosary will be Sunday at 5pm with a visitation with the family to follow until 7pm at Cutler-O'Neill Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10am at St. Patrick's Church in Council Bluffs with Father Glen Wilwerding as celebrant.

Burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Neola with a luncheon to follow at St. Patrick's Social Hall in Neola.

The family will direct memorials.
