Falcons on wrong end of a pair of 3-1 decisions

St. Albert gave up two goals in the first 10 minutes in a 3-1 loss to Columbus (Neb.) Scotus, the seventh ranked Class B team in Nebraska, in prep soccer action Thursday at the C.B. Recreation Complex.

"We got off to such a bad start," said Falcons' coach Tom Lorkovic. "We didn't play badly after that but it was too big of a hole to get out of."

Bryce Kinard headed home from a corner kick midway through the first half for the Falcon goal.

"We did a lot of things well," said Lorkovic. "Scotus is a good team and after giving up the early lead, time was on their side."

The loss comes on the heels of the Falcons 3-1 loss to Westwood Sloan on Monday.

"It has been a rough week," said Lorkovic. "Some injuries and players out of town for the Easter holiday and we just didn't play that well against Sloan."

Jon Recher scored the only Falcon goal on Monday.

"We have Lewis Central on Friday at their place," said Lorkovic. "Hopefully we can turn it around."

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at Titan Field.
