Saintes hammer Westwood Sloan

The St. Albert girls made short work of Westwood Sloan in prep soccer action Monday night, blanking the Warriors 7-0 at the C.B. Recreational Complex.

Despite the high score, no player had multiple goals for the Saintes, with seven different girls recording the seven goals.

"That's pretty rare," St. Albert coach Randy Salyers said. "We did a lot of moving people around, and everybody played real well."

Gina Assmann, Mollie Collins, Krista Kennebeck, Sophie Bartels and Shelby McGinn accounted for the five first-half goals for the Saintes, with Lauren Wagner and Becca Gradoville adding second-half tallies.

Collins, Assmann, Bartels and Rachel Showers had assists in the contest.

The Saintes are back in action at the C.B. Recreational Complex against Columbus Scotus Thursday.
