The Falcons lost 1-0 to Class 1-A No. 4 Dyersville Beckman and dropped a 2-1 decision to Class 1-A No. 1 Iowa City Regina. They ended the day with a 2-0 victory over Fort Madison Holy Trinity. “The boys played hard all day,” St. Albert coach Tom Lorkovic said. “The kids are still learning and improving, but they showed a lot of effort and heart today.” Nate Dunning scored the lone goal in the loss to Iowa City Regina, and Francisco Barajas scored the two goals in the victory over Holy Trinity. Dylan Crawley picked up an assist on one of Barajas’ goals. Eric Assmann allowed only three goals on the day, including shutting out each team in the second half of each game. “Eric really stepped up today,” said Lorkovic. “He didn’t stop every shot but really made some nice saves and kept us in every game of the tournament.” The Falcons will host Abraham Lincoln on Tuesday.
