Congrats to St. Albert Mom & supporter, Kendra Stephany, who won our 2012 March Madness Tourney! Stephany becomes the 1st female to ever win the title!! In the end, she bested 177 other competitors (our biggest field ever) to become the Champ.  Thanks again to all of our sponsors here on this website & to The St. Albert Alumni & Friends Association for making this tournament possible! 1st Place - Kendra Stephany: $250

Kendra Stephany is the Jr. High/High School choir accompanist at St. Albert. She also works part time as a paralegal. She and her husband Bob have two children who attend St. Albert: Brendan, a Junior, and Krisann, a Freshman. She would go like to go on record by saying that “contrary to popular belief, no one helped me with my picks!”  Kendra is also the lead vocalist & organ player at the Holy Family location of Corpus Christi Parish.

2nd Place - Matt Madsen: $150

Matt Madsen & his lovely bride Kathleen Kilnoski are SA grads—’78 & ’77 respectively.  Their college student sons are John (SA ’08) & Peter (Creighton Prep ’11—SA grade school).  Matt & Kathleen are dedicated public servants for the State of Iowa (DHS & Judicial Dept.).  When not broadcasting games or posting occasional real & manufactured pieces on stalbersportsfan, Matt stays connected to St. Albert on the Foundation Board and MC’ing the SA Auction with his buddy, Dan McGinn.  While a SA student Matt says he learned from Frs. Ed Hurley, Steve Orr & Paul Monahan that it is vital to give back to your community.  Matt promises to spend the winnings on more $2 words for his articles. Matt & Kathleen are also members of Holy Family Church in Corpus Christi Parish.

3rd Place - Tony Stuntz: $100

Tony is a 1999 graduate of St. Albert (started at QB when current playoff streak began & was a member of the 1999 State Championship Baseball Team).  In Falcon hoops he's still 2nd All-Time in Single Season Shooting %, 6th in career 3 point shots made & 9th in All-Time Steals.  Tony went on to graduate from The University of Iowa & also completed Dental School in Iowa City.  Tony currently runs his own practice at Stuntz Family Dentistry in Council Bluffs & he's also the Offensive Coordinator for the Falcon Football Team.

4th Place - Ryan Stuntz: $80

Drs. Ryan & Melanie Stuntz

Ryan is a 1997 graduate of St. Albert & started on the 1996 State Championship Baseball Team.  He then went on to continue the family tradition of Stuntz's at the University of Iowa (Grandfather Clyde, Father Wendell, and 'little' brothers Tony & Mike (currently in Med School).  After undergrad Ryan then completed Dental School in Iowa City as well, which is where he met his lovely wife, Melanie.  Ryan runs his own dental practice in Farley, Iowa and Melanie works in a practice in Dubuque, IA.  Ryan & Melanie have two small children, Claire & Pete.  In his spare time Ryan enjoys photography ( http://photo.stuntzonline.com/ ) and biking.  He'll also be back in town next weekend to see one of his favorites, Jimmy Buffett.  Ryan said he plans to donate his winnings to help purchase a new football helmet.

5th Place - Gary Rindone: $60

Gary is a 1975 graduate of St. Albert and was a member of the first State Championship Team in St. Albert History, the 1975 State Basketball Championship. (Our track historians are always quick to point out that the 1969 1,600 Meter Relay Team of Darwin Kruse, Jim Walsh, Tom Turner & Ken Mehsling were the 1st State Champs in School History).  Gary was a longtime Assistant & Head Coach at St. Albert in many sports & his Nephew, Alex, and Niece, Emily, are currently in high school at St. Albert.  Gary is a real estate agent at Key Real Estate here in Council Bluffs.

6th Place - Collin McBride: $40

Collin is a 2011 graduate of St. Albert.  While at St. Albert, Collin was on State Football, Basketball & Soccer Teams.  He's the second of Tim & Theresa's three kids to attend St. Albert (Cole is a Frosh).  Collin is currently employed at The Peter Kiewit Company.

7th Place - Steve Orwig: $20

Unfortunately we were not able to get any information or a picture of Steve.  But, we do know he's a St. Albert graduate of 2007.
