Katie Herrrington also lost a tight consolation match in No. 1 singles and Joni Thomas and Julianne Johnson dropped a third-set tiebreaker in their consolation match at No. 1 doubles. “The girls played well for their first outing of the year,” coach Phyllis Damngaard said. “Our places didn’t show it but we had a good day overall.” No. 1 Singles: Katie Herrington lost to Montana Crow (Glenwood), 6-0, 6-4; lost to Michaela Fineran (Denison-Schleswig), 6-4, 6-4.
