Saintes Fall at Boystown

Boys Town defeated St. Albert 47-38 Thursday night in a non-conference girls prep basketball game.

The Saintes dug themselves in a hole early, trailing by nine points at halftime thanks to a two-point second quarter output.

"We didn't come out to play in the first half at all," St. Albert coach Tom Heithoff said. "The game was out there for the taking, but we just didn't go out and do it."

Gina Assmann put together another solid game for the Saintes, scoring 12 points to go with eight rebounds.

Aileen Mooney hustled well, Heithoff said of the senior. After struggling in the first half, she came back in after intermission and led the Saintes with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Trevour Yates had some nice shots and sparked a comeback in the fourth quarter, according to Heithoff, who added that Carolyn Koch had a good fourth frame as well.

Abby Remacle paced the Cowboys with 19 points, followed by Holly Morrissey with 14.

St. Albert hosts Glenwood Saturday.
