Saint Albert World Mission Trivia Night on March 24th

Posted: 03/16/2012 - by Charlie Narmi

Senior students from St. Albert are currently in the Dominican Republic on the Saint Albert mission trip. Yesterday they visited an orphanage serving severe/profound handicapped individuals. The students were very moved to see youth their age in this facility. They showed care and compassion to these residents.

Today, they are visiting Hatian Batey, a refugee camp for Hatians fleeing their home country. Each day they are spending time in prayer and reflection. They will soon travel to Henequen where they will dig latrines and lay concrete. I ask your continued prayers for this group of young men and women and the adult chaperones. They will return on Wednesday, March 21st.

I also ask that you consider showing your support by participating in Trivia Night on March 24th at Queen's Social Hall. The students will share photos and reflections about their trip as we share some food and play a game of trivia. Proceeds will help to defray the cost of this trip. Gather a table of friends (6-8 people). Cost is $20 per person.

Meal begins at 7 pm and the game starts at 8 pm. There will be items from the DR for raffle. Please see the attachment for more details of this event. We encourage the teachers to come "on the house" (no cost to you) and match your wits against the parents and alumni. Winning table and losing table will receive a prize.

Please email/call me to sign up. Thank you for your support!

“Team Trivia Night” sponsored by the Saint Albert World Mission students and parents will be held Saturday, March 24, 2011- 7pm at Corpus Christi Parish in the Queen of Apostle's Great Hall (3304 4th Ave., Council Bluffs, IA).

This event will be used to raise funds for the World Mission trip. The students will have just returned from the Dominican Republic that week and will be at the event to share stories about their trip.

Registration, dinner and social hour begins at 7:00 PM.
The Team Trivia competition will begin at 8:00pm.

Team trivia is played as follows:
1.      Teams are comprised of 6-8 adults. You are encouraged to recruit friends, family or goofballs to your team to create a well rounded group of “trivia junkies”
2.      You are seated at the same table, asked to come up with a team name and the competition begins.
3.      Eight rounds of ten questions will be asked using a variety of categories. After each question, team members will have time to confer and come up with one answer. Answers are written on your answer sheet.
4.      After each round, the answers are corrected and point totals are posted for all teams.

The team with the best score after eight rounds will be the “Team Trivia Night” Champs.

Cost is $20.00 for each member of a team.

To purchase tickets, please call Jennifer Veit 712--256-1813 or email at bveit1@cox.net
