Here's last night's Celebrate Saint Albert Half-Time Honoree's...

Tonight, as we continue the Tradition of Celebrating Saint Albert Catholic Schools during Catholic Schools Week, we would like to Honor these three Seniors for their Scholarships and Academic Recognition that have been offered to them to date…..Patrick Martin,  Maureen Snook, and Mary Faurot.  These three seniors are representative of a senior class that is an academic powerhouse.   Roughly a third of the senior class have ACT scores above 25, with several scoring in the 30’s.

Patrick Martin, has received an Academic Merit Scholarship at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, equaling $76,000 over 4 years.  In addition, Patrick is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship at Iowa State University equaling $28,000 over 4 years.

Maureen Snook , has received an Academic Merit Scholarship at St. Benedict University in St. Joseph, Minnesota equaling $74,000 over 4 years.  In addition, Maureen has received an Academic Merit Scholarship at Simpson College in Indianola equaling $80,000 over 4 years.

Mary Faurot has received an Academic Merit Scholarship at the prestigious Case Western University  in Ohio equaling $120,000 over 4 years.  In addition, Mary has received an Academic Merit Scholarship at St. Louis University equaling $64,000 over 4 years.

Finally, in 2011 the University of Notre Dame had 16,547 applications, of which 4,019 were accepted, and 2,023 enrolled.  Mary Faurot has been accepted into the 2012 Freshman Class at the University of Notre Dame.  In addition, she is 1 of 200 admitted freshman who has been invited to attend the Reilly Visitation Program, in which all essentials for the weekend – travel costs, accommodations and meals – will be provided and financed by Notre Dame.

Catholic School Supporters….you are looking at almost a half-a-million dollars in collective scholarship money between these three outstanding seniors.

These students are another great example of the well rounded educational experience that students receive in the Saint Albert Catholic School System, that prepares them to become the future Christian leaders of tomorrow.
