Saintes move to 8-9Posted: 01/31/2012 - by Drew FergusonThe Saintes picked up their 8th win on the season with a 66-30 victory over Thomas Jefferson (TJ). It was a sluggish start in the first half, but behind a red hot Faye Assmann the girls were able to pull away for the convincing win. Give TJ credit, they play hard and they have somewhat of a depleted team with the loss of a couple of more experienced players due to season ending knee injuries. Never-the-less, we needed a win to get us back on track to end a 7 game skid. Assmann led the team with 21 points on the night. Also chipping in were Kylie Ferguson with 9 (8r) while Alli Wettengel, Mattie Munger, and Nicole Rollins all finished with 8. Wettengel (aka Alli Jo) also grabbed 8 boards. Next up is Boystown on Thursday night. editors note: In my opinion this was a breakout game for the Saintes, the team played aggresive defense and the ball movement and shot selection were much improved. Great job ladies! -ARCHIVES- |
