Falcons lose tough one on road

FREMONT, Neb. - Fremont Bergan slipped by St. Albert 54-52 Tuesday evening in a boys prep basketball game.

The Knights, down early, took a 46-39 lead into the final quarter.

Turnovers ended up haunting St. Albert. The Falcons finished with 18 turnovers, including three in the final 2:30.

"We didn't execute late," St. Albert coach Dale Scott said. "We were playing behind and tightened up a bit."

The Falcons were led by Marc Baumert's 19 points and nine boards. Nolan Batten added 11 points and Matt Herrington scored 10.

Wes Eikmeier scored 18 points for Bergan.

The Falcons return to action Thursday with a game at Lewis Central.
