BOYS TOWN, Neb. - St. Albert wrapped up Centennial Conference Volleyball Tournament play
The Saintes dropped a 25-22, 25-23 match to Grand Island Central Catholic to start the day.

"We had our chances in that match," said Saintes' coach Angie Lantz. "We played well, it just didn't go our way."

The Saintes then lost to Wahoo Neumann 25-21, 25-18 before falling in the seventh place match 25-22, 24-26, 25-18 to Fremont Bergan.

"We had to sit around for a long time after losing the first match," said Lantz. "We looked a little unmotivated."

Aileen Mooney was the leading attacker for the Saintes, racking up 17 kills on the day followed by Krista Kennebeck with 13.

Mooney added five stuff blocks and Gina Assmann piled up 30 assists on the day.

"We just didn't build up any momentum," said Lantz. "All three matches were winnable, but we didn't get he job done."
