St. Albert shuts down Clarinda

Posted: 09/13/2004 - by

The St Albert football team jumped out early and hard against the Clarinda Cardinals this Friday and never looked back as they ran to a 20-0 victory. They got on the board fast and early with the first play from scrimmage going for 54 yards on the legs of Brandon Fischer. The extra point was blocked making the score 6-0. On the Falcons first play of the next drive Fischer again broke loose for a 20 yard tochdown run uping the score to 13-0. The Falcons' defense was superb the entire night shutting out the Cardinals and holding their fill in quarterback in check. The Falcons final touchdown came on the last play of the first half when Jeremy Schiffer got outside and took the run 64 yards to end the half and the scoring at 20-0. The Falcons continued to play good defense and pound the ball out on the ground in the second half racking up 337 yards offense for the game of which 303 came via the run.
The Falcons will be back in action next week as they travel to Underwood for a game against the Eagles, which will also be our next broadcast.
