The St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of St. Albert Grandma, Marlyn McNitt.  Marlyn is the Mom of St. Albert supporters and parents, Dave & Denise McNitt and the Grandma to great Falcon wrestlers and graduates, Sean and Brennan McNitt.  Sean is now in his 2nd year of Medical School at Des Moines University (Cardiology) and Brennan just graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Iowa. Please keep the entire McNitt in your prayers today and please pray for the repose of Marlyn's soul...

Eternal rest grant unto Marlyn o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon her.

Marlyn F. McNitt

Marlyn F. McNitt, age 84, of Long Beach, Calif., passed away on January 21, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

Marlyn was born and raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was born November 11, 1933. Marlyn attended Fort Dodge High School. She married Richard McNitt in 1951, and early married life included residence in Fort Sill, Okla., California, Wyoming, New Zealand, and their eventual residence of Long Beach. Marlyn worked for 12 years as a probate investigator, volunteered for many years as an election poll worker, school recess coach, and at the St. Cornelius Rummage room. Marlyn had a love of family, friends and neighbors always the first to step up to help someone in need. She will always be remembered for her energy, fun spirit, and loving nature as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Petrie; brother, Art; daughter, Nancy; and son, Michael.

Marlyn is survived by her husband, Richard, of 66 years; son, David (wife, Denise), of Council Bluffs; and daughter, Laura Chavez, of Long Beach; grandchildren, Aaron and Jessica Chavez, both of Long Beach, Brianna Sproul, of Monett, Mo., Sean and Brennan McNitt, of Des Moines, Iowa and Council Bluffs; and great-granddaughter, Tatianna of Long Beach.

Marlyn will be cremated to follow with an open house at their residence in Long Beach.
