Dr. Izzat Jabro

The St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of Dr. Izzat Jabro who passed away at the end of June after a 30+ year battle with Parkinson's disease.  Dr. Jabro and wife, Widad, immigrated to America and eventually left a lasting imprint in the States while producing one of the more impressive families in St. Albert history: Linda - 1981 (Doctor of Pharmacy), Mark - 1983 (Doctor), Gina - 1985 (Doctor), Don - 1987 (Hedge Fund Manager), Anita - 1991 (Registered Nurse) and Ramsey - 1992 (Former CFO & Current App Entrepreneur and former stalbertsportsfan March Madness Champion).  Please keep Dr. Izzat's wife, Widad, and the entire extended Jabro family in your prayers at this time and please pray for the repose of Dr. Jabro's soul...

Eternal rest grant unto Dr. Izzat o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon him.

May Dr. Izzat rest in peace. Amen

May Dr. Izzat's soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed through the mercy of God our Father rest in peace. Amen

Dr. Izzat Jabro

Izzat Hanna Jabro was born February 10th, 1932 in Tel Kaif, Iraq to Hanna Monsour Jabro and Misco Hermes. He graduated from the Royal College of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq and received his Doctor of Medicine degree on June 20th, 1955. He practiced in Iraq prior to his marriage to Widad Hanoodi on February 4th, 1962. After their first daughter was born Izzat took his family to the United States to further his education at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon completion of his education they settled in Council Bluffs, Iowa where Izzat practiced as a pediatrician at Cogley Clinic until he retired in 1985 after developing Parkinson’s disease. Izzat and Widad moved to San Diego in the fall of 1992.

Our beloved “Baba” sacrificed to make a good life for his family in a new country creating a legacy in his children through his example of work ethic and promotion of higher education. Outside of his work, he loved taking the family on vacations documented with copious Super 8 videos and pictures. He loved the outdoors and gardening as well as spending time with relatives and good Arabic music. We will miss him dearly.

Izzat is survived by his wife Widad, 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Linda (Matt) Statz of Sioux Falls, SD and Megan (great grandchildren Theodore and Sylvia), Hannah and Joe; Dr. Mark (Dahlia) Jabro of San Diego, CA and Ashley, Matthew and Ryan; Dr. Gina (Bill) Mansy of San Diego, CA and Lauren, Luke and Brooke; Donald (Savanna) Jabro of Boston, MA and Charlotte, Emmeline and Graham; Anita (Matt) McNeill of Phoenix, AZ and Connor, Preston and Chloe; Ramsey Jabro of Phoenix, AZ; and his brothers Dr. Mansoor (Salwa) Jabro of San Diego, CA and Jaber (Rajeha) Jabro of Detroit, MI.
