L.C.’s Kreiser wraps up decorated prep career in style

There was a time when Brittnie Kreiser wanted to give up playing softball.

As an 8-year-old, she had already gotten into the routine. Play during the summer. Develop pitches during the winter. Repeat often.

The moment of truth came midway through elementary school. Kreiser’s dad shocked her then, wondering out loud if she would rather be spending her time away from a diamond.

“He never gave me the chance to quit,” Kreiser said. “But once, when I was little, he asked me if I wanted to quit. I said, ‘Yes,’ and he said, ‘Too bad.’”

That conversation has had an adverse effect on hitters throughout the state in recent seasons. The Lewis Central senior pitcher dominated opponents with her arm and bat yet again this summer, earning the honor as The Daily Nonpareil’s City Player of the Year for an unprecedented fourth straight time.

Do you like that St. Albert seperates the registration fee, the technology fee, and sports fees from tuition?
Yes. That way I know exactly where the money is going.
No. I wish they just put it all in the grand total to make it easy.
