Charlie's Prediction Time

Yes and Yes.

Yes the Falcons are that good. And yes, perhaps an opponent or two isn't quite as good as first thought.  But more on the mighty Falcons in a bit...

Welcome back to The Hill the 'kids' from 1967 & 1977! Come check out the campus, see some old friends and remember the good times you had growing up and the friendships you've kept the last 40-50 years!

One of the many things that continues to be great about the St. Albert Community is that it truly is a 'family'.  You may go away for awhile, you might have some hurt feelings over something but The Family will always be there for you when you return.  And some, well, they just are always there for the Family.  Tonight St. Albert Dad, Grandpa & Promoter, Dale Poole, starts his 47th year on the Falcon Football 'Chain Gang'! Dale along with Fritz Krohn, Mike Noon and Randy Shanno have been a strong crew for literally decades and they are now getting their 'kids' involved.  Think of the countless Falcons they've seen up close and personal as the pads are popping against some of the best in Southwest Iowa.  Anyway, welcome back Dale & Crew to another season of Falcon Football!

Mike Ratigan and Dale Poole pregaming before Falcon Football 2017

Here's St. Albert Dad's and Grandpa's, Mike Ratigan & Dale Poole, pre-gaming before some Falcon football.  Both had sons play for the Green & Gold and both are now watching the last of their Grandson's play at Al Leber Field: Ratigan - Joe Liston; Poole - Ben VanSoelen.

Speaking of coming back to The Nest...

Father Ross Parker

It was great to see former St. Albert Chaplain, Father Ross Parker, with the Falcons last week in Carroll! Father Ross took the coaching staff up on the always open invite for Priests & Nuns to be with the Falcons or Saintes on the sideline and drove down from Des Moines to see the crew. He offered the pre and post game prayer and even offered some offensive line input during the game.  As good as the Falcons looked, his presence certainly was welcomed!

The Saintes & Falcon Cross Country teams are bringing back the pride in one of the historically great programs at St. Albert.  Again, if you haven't been to a race before or if it's been awhile, get to Iowa Western on Saturday and observe and cheer on the Green & Gold.

The volleyball team is on fire right now.  They're a great mix across the grade levels and what these ladies lack in height (extremely short for a powerhouse team) they make up for in grit, stamina and hustle.  They're a great group that deserves your support.

As for tonight... We've got the great SA band, mini-dancers along with The Dance Team and Cheer Squads (both under new leadership), we've got the great volunteers in the concession stand, Spirit Store, and Press Box. Get out and support all of these - and also see the great work of The Field Crew. A HUGE thank you to all that worked so hard the last 2 months to help get St. Albert Stadium and Al Leber Field up to speed!

Don't worry about the score tonight - the Falcons have a special group this year and will be just fine.  Get to the Stadium early and see the hot air balloons in the background and enjoy what you do on a Midwestern Fall Friday night - high school football.
