The St. Albert community is saddened to hear of the loss of Vicki Hassebroek who passed away this week after a valiant fight against cancer.  Vicki was a 1974 St. Albert graduate, the sister of Toni Fetter and Godmother to 3 of the Fetter's children.  Please keep the Hassebroek and Fetter families in your thoughts & prayers at this difficult time and please say a special prayer today for the repose of Vicki's soul...

Victoria “Vicki” Ann Hassebroek (b. July 11, 1956) of Sioux Falls, SD passed away peacefully with her family present on Sunday, September 17, 2017 after a year and a half battle with anaplastic cancer. She was 61 years old. A visitation will take place on Thursday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St. Therese Catholic Church in Sioux Falls followed by a Liturgical Wake Service and Holy Rosary.  Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 22nd at St. Therese Catholic Church with a burial at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls.


Vicki will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a dedicated disciple of Christ, and a thoughtful friend. Vicki was united in marriage with Ronald “Ron” Hassebroek on October 14, 1978 in Missouri Valley, IA. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls, SD and were blessed with three children, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and another expected grandchild. She spent her childhood in Missouri Valley, IA and graduated from St. Albert’s High School in Council Bluffs, IA and Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She worked at Citibank for nearly 35 years. Vicki was active in various volunteer positions at her parish, St. Therese, served as a mentor to children at local schools, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed sewing, baking, quilting, attending her grandchildrens’ events, and above all spending time with her family and friends.

Vicki is preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Ramirez, son Philip Hassebroek, brothers Micky and Michael Ramirez, and sister Yolanda Ramirez. She is survived by her loving husband, Ron Hassebroek, daughters Elysia Hassebroek of Denver, CO and Laura (Jesse Shald) Hassebroek of Granby, CO, grandchildren Lorenzo, Maura, Genevive, and Alyjah Hassebroek, all of Sioux Falls, SD, granddaughter Mila Shald of Granby, CO, great grandson Nathaniel Hassebroek of Sioux Falls, SD, sisters Toni (Rick) Fetter and Tish (Steve) Davidson, both of Council Blufffs, IA, sister Stacy (Tom) Olander of Tuscon, AZ, brother Harvey (Sandi) Ramirez of Sioux Falls, SD, father Monico Ramirez of Omaha, NE, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
