The St. Albert family is saddened by the loss of Gene Clark who passed away on Friday.  Gene was a proud St. Albert Dad who had children graduate from 1969 to 1980.  He was a hard working good man who loved his family and his Faith.  Please keep the entire Clark family in your prayers and please pray for the repose of Gene's soul...

Eternal rest grant unto Gene o' Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon him.

Gene Clark

Francis E. "Gene" Clark, Sr., age 93, of Council Bluffs, passed away July 14, 2017, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gene was born in rural Missouri Valley, Iowa, on September 5, 1923, to the late Francis M. and Josephine (Ryan) Clark. He married Lois Larsen on July 17, 1948, in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with four children, Francis, James, Roger and Karen. Gene was a lifetime farmer in Crescent, Iowa (He never retired). He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Farm Bureau.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Clark, in 2009; granddaughter, Molly Sue Clark and daughter-in-law, Kim Clark, in 2015.

Gene is survived by his sons, Francis (Betty) Clark, of Council Bluffs, Jim (LuAnn) Clark, of Omaha, Neb., Roger Clark, of Crescent, Iowa; daughter, Karen (Tom) Shudak, of Union, Nebr.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn (Norman) Hansen, of Ft. Collins, Colo., Joyce Schram of, Gretna, Nebr., Phyllis (Wayne) Buresh, of Grand Meadows, Minn.; many nieces and nephews.

Wake service, Monday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. A lunch will immediately follow in the parish hall. Interment, Tuesday, 1 p.m., in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Wings of Hope or St. Albert Schools.
