The St. Albert family is saddened by the passing of Rosemary Meis who passed away this week.  Rosemary was a St. Albert Mother-in-law and a St. Albert Grandma to a wonderful St. Albert family.  Please keep Rosemary and the entire Meis family in your prayers at this difficult time..

Eternal rest grant unto Rosemary O Lord: And let perpetual light shine upon her.

Rosemary Margaret Meis, age 94, passed away October 4, 2018, at the family farm with her family by her side.

Rosemary was born March 3, 1924, to the late Earl and Helen (Grote) Wells and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Meis, on June 1, 1948, and to this union six children were born, Diana (Reid) Andersen, of Council Bluffs, Judee (Skip) Jacobs, of Princeton, Mo; Mary Kay (John) Hearn, Bill Jr (Laura) Meis, all of Council Bluffs, Bob (Jan) Meis, of Treynor, Iowa, Jolisa (Lamar) Lane, of Amarillo, Texas. Rosemary's grandchildren include Morey (Tim), Amilee (Corby), Nick (Liz), Kiley (Jim), Joni (Bryan), Shawn, Michaela (Andy), Gabe, Nevada, Brock, Connor, Kale (Madsyn), Keely, step-grandson Tom (Sara); great- grandchildren, Cade, Clay, Mia, Kayba, Brayson, Jack, Will, Maura, Brinley, Rhett, Brylee; step-great-grandchildren, Brooke and Rory.

Rosemary was a farm wife, homemaker and longtime volunteer. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor, former member of Appaloosa and Paint Horse Associations, and was Frontier Queen (Aksarben) in August 1947. She cherished her family and all their activities, loved riding horses, Rodeo's, gardening, bird watching. Rosemary is a huge Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer fan who also loved to bake and cook for family and friends.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brother, Lester Wells who was killed in WWII; infant grandson, Pake William Lane.

Visitation will be Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral services, Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor. Interment, St. Paul Cemetery, followed by a luncheon back at church. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran and Asera Care Hospice.
